New variant of tetris in which you must fit polygon gems together by colour.

In 1984 Alexey Pajitnov revolutionized the gaming industry with Tetris. All these years later there are still versions launched every year that take the basic premise of the game and add a new dimension. One such is this GemQuake 1.1. As you can probably gather by now, GemQuake 1.1 is a new variant of Tetris in which you must fit polygon gems together that fall from the top with other gems that have already fallen, and group them by colour to make them disappear.

GemQuake 1.1 has loads of interesting options for one or two players, including one where you have to take it in turns to remove the gems by joining them. Another is where two players with two boards race each other to clear them. If one player manages to join four or more gems of the same colour they disappear from their board and fall on their opponent's!

In GemQuake 1.1 the main difficulty is that the polygon shape makes it difficult to fit them together. But it is a simple game to download, install and configure, allowing you to choose several personalization options for the colour, sounds, background etc.
